San Diego-based Donut Bar, which sells gourmet doughnuts, is looking for business owners that want to open franchise locations in Southern California.
Chef Santiago Campa and co-founder Wendy Bartels opened the first Donut Bar shop in downtown San Diego in March of 2013. Since then they have opened locations in San Diego International Airport and in Las Vegas.
In March of 2014, about a year after opening their first location, the founders opened a Donut Bar location in Orange County, but closed it Jan. 1, 2016. Campa said at the time cutting ties with the shop, which was sold, was necessary to prepare for the company’s planned expansion through franchising.
The company said some of the franchise locations will also serve wine and craft beer during evening hours.
