James Floros, CEO of the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank, has been elected chairman of the California Association of Food Banks.

The advocacy group represents 41 California food banks.

Floros will lead the organization’s board of directors in maintaining oversight of its operations and represent the group at the state and federal level.

Since being named head of the San Diego Food Bank in 2013, Floros has overseen a major expansion of its programs, facility improvements and an increase in the number of people it serves monthly from 320,000 to 370,000, according to the organization.
