Public Spaces, Private Enterprises Make Good Mix at Westfield UTC

A plethora of new stores has opened at Westfield UTC, with more to come following the October opening of the mall’s two-story Nordstrom and San Diego’s first Shake Shack restaurant.

Along with the new stores, Westfield UTC had added new public areas, landscaped open-air plazas, a new outdoor promenade called The Pointe, and a sculpture garden leading from the mall’s front entrance to Palm Plaza.

The new plazas and public spaces feature chiseled limestone, cobbled porphyry stone, shaded cabanas and verandas, koi ponds, fire pits, twinkle lights, laser-cut lanterns, reflecting pools, and wood-screened trellises under a canopy of olive, coral, and Torrey Pine trees.

Newly opened stores include Allen Edmonds, Sugarfina, Sundance, Arhaus Furniture, Credo, Quay Australia, Rodd & Gunn, UNTUCKit and Vineyard Vines.

Coming soon are Alo Yoga, Billabong, Cotton On, Jo Malone London, Marine Layer, No Rest for Bridget, Stitch & Trace, Suitsupply, Superdry, and Vessell.

True Food Kitchen has opened a restaurant in the mall, with several other eateries slated to follow, including Napizza, Tocaya Organica, Great Maple, Din Tai Fung, Javier’s, Larsen’s Steakhouse, La Colombe Coffee, Smokeyard BBQ and Chop Shop, Sweetfin Poke, and The Winery Restaurant & Wine Bar La Jolla.
