Children’s Legal Services of San Diego Inc. has hired Kristin Garrett Montgomery as its chief operating officer.
The nonprofit organization provides legal representation to children in abuse and neglect proceedings in San Diego County’s juvenile dependency court system.
Most recently, Montgomery was the associate vice president for Molina Healthcare of California.
She began her career in a dual role with the Hospital Association of San Diego & Imperial Counties (HASD&IC) and Community Health Improvement Partners (CHIP). Among the roles she held at those organizations were director of public advocacy for HASD&IC and president and CEO of CHIP.
Montgomery graduated from the California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo with a bachelor’s degree in nutritional science, and from San Diego State University’s Graduate School of Public Health with a master’s degree in public health with a concentration in health service administration.
She started her new role with CLSSD on Oct. 31.
