San Diego-based Epsilon Systems Solutions Inc. received a one-year, $17 million contract modification from the U.S. Navy in an award set aside for small businesses.

The deal announced on Aug. 28 calls for the business to offer a full range of technical and repair support services to the Southwest Regional Maintenance Center, which oversees ship repair in San Diego. The original, 2014 contract calls for help with corrosion control, engines and combat systems, among other areas.

Some $1.3 million of obligated funds must be spent by the time the federal fiscal year ends on Sept. 30.

The Southwest Regional Maintenance Center awarded the contract modification after receiving two offers for the work.

Epsilon received the modification under a five-year contract that could be worth up to $85 million.
