ViaSat Inc. reported net income of $11.0 million on revenue of $399.2 million in its second quarter of fiscal 2017, which ended Sept. 30. The business revealed its earnings Nov. 8.
The Carlsbad provider of satellite hardware and services more than doubled its net income from $4.9 million the same quarter one year ago. Revenue improved 13 percent from the second quarter of fiscal 2016, when the figure was $353.3 million.
In other news, ViaSat (Nasdaq: VSAT) said that an unnamed North American airline selected the company to retrofit more than 500 aircraft from its existing domestic fleet with ViaSat’s advanced in-flight internet system. Installations will begin in the summer. Financial terms of the deal were not announced.
