Local technology membership group CyberTECH announced nine startups have entered its Entrepreneurs in Residence program.
“This is an exceptional group of entrepreneurs, with diverse backgrounds and at different development stages,” said Darin Andersen, chairman and founder of CyberTECH, in a statement. “We’re proud to offer them our collective expertise, support and mentorship.”
The program offers six months of cheap rental housing at CyberTECH, which is located in the Manpower building in Bankers Hill. The idea is to build connections between startups and CyberTECH’s partners and stakeholders.
“So far, five of our first 16 EIRs have received initial funding, including two in the current group,” Andersen said. “CyberTECH’s vision is to support a minimum of 100 such San Diego-based startups by the end of 2018.”
The following startups were added to the Entrepreneurs in Residence program: Insurance on the Web, 360 Stock VR, Amino Acid Sports, Docfully, Velocy, Ice Cybersecurity, QuiO, Drone Aviator, Intnd.io.
CyberTECH provides resources, programs, and leadership events for entrepreneurs and companies in the cybersecurity and “internet of things” space. Its members are made up of business and finance groups, academic and research institutions, and government and nonprofit organizations.
In recent months, a total of 12 CyberTECH members have received more than $50 million in investment funding, according to a CyberTECH news release.
