Aya Healthcare, a San Diego-based provider of travel nursing and hospital workforce solutions, announced Nov. 1 it has acquired HealthCare Select, a vendor-neutral software company headquartered in Dana Point. Terms were not disclosed.

Aya said HealthCare Select will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary as it continues working with hospitals across the West. It said customers of the newly acquired company, which will now be headquartered in San Diego, will have access to an expanded suite of products, including more software and clinical resources.

With 494 corporate employees prior to the acquisition, Aya Healthcare offers software and services helping health-care systems arrange for contingent labor and manage clinicians in ways it says improve efficiency, increase quality and lower costs. It serves more than 3,000 hospitals across the country.

HealthCare Select, which has 23 employees, provides a software platform designed to help hospitals contract contingent workers more efficiently. Locally, it manages contract labor for Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego.
