Webcor Builders, a contractor with a San Diego presence since 2000, was recently awarded a $69 million project at Camp Pendleton with its joint venture partner, Bethel Contracting LLC.

Together, Alaska-based Bethel Contracting LLC and Webcor Builders make up a joint venture called Bethel-Webcor JV-1. They were awarded the contract for design and construction of a communication information system (CIS) operations complex at the Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton.

Included in the project is the design and construction of multiple facilities and installation of a telecommunications cable connecting the new remote switch and the new operations complex.

The contract also includes an “unexercised option,” that would increase the contract value to over $74 million if exercised, according to the Department of Defense.

Construction is expected to be complete by January 2020 and will be performed in Oceanside.

Fifteen proposals were received through the Navy Electronic Commerce Online website. The Naval Facilities Engineering Command Southwest is the contracting activity.
