Rick Engineering Co.’s Brian F. Mooney will be inducted into the 2016 American Institute of Certified Planners College of Fellows on April 3.

Those eligible for the award must have achieved certification through the American Planning Association’s professional institute, the American Institute of Certified Planners, and have achieved excellence in practice, teaching, mentoring, research, public and community service and leadership.

He will receive the honor at the American Planning Association’s National Planning Conference in Arizona.

Mooney currently serves as the managing principal for the community planning and sustainable development division, which oversees community planning, landscape architecture, urban design and environmental studies.

“Individuals who make up the College of Fellows are the true leaders of the planning profession,” said Valerie Hubbard, president of American Institute of Certified Planners, in the release. “These individuals have made lasting contributions to the profession and have inspired generations of new planners. They are truly awe-inspiring.”

Mooney has over 40 years of experience.
