The U.S. Navy awarded Pacific West Builders, a small business based in National City, a $9 million project at Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in Twentynine Palms. Under the deal, announced Feb. 29, the company will repair and rehabilitate Field Maintenance Facility Building 2000. Work is expected to last through the end of the year.
Two companies bid on the deal. The Naval Facilities Engineering Command Southwest in San Diego (known in Navy circles as NAVFAC) awarded the task order under a multiple award construction contract. A single option on the contract would increase the value of the deal to $9.8 million.
