Carmel Valley-based antenna specialist Airgain Inc. said on Jan. 6 that it signed a definitive agreement to acquire the North American assets of SkyCross Inc. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

With the acquisition, Airgain said it gains ownership of certain North American accounts as well as key sales and engineering resources.

Airgain provides high-performance embedded antenna technology, integration support and test services for the wireless communications market. The SkyCross product portfolio consists of a broad range of antenna solutions targeting the home networking, enterprise and machine-to-machine markets.

The acquisition “meets our strategic goal of strengthening our position within our core gateway and set-top box markets while also expanding our customer base into more diverse product categories and antenna solutions,” said Charles Myers, CEO of Airgain, in a prepared statement.
