The U.S. Navy awarded BAE Systems San Diego Ship Repair a contract modification that could be worth as much as $52.1 million.
The deal, announced on Feb. 9, covers shipyard work for the dock landing ship USS Rushmore.
The work package, called a phased maintenance availability, is expected to be completed by March 2017. The Southwest Regional Maintenance Center of San Diego awarded the deal.
The Rushmore is a Whidbey Island-class ship capable of carrying up to 500 Marines and four air-cushion landing craft.
