Kearny Mesa-based Cubic Corp. said on Aug. 29 that it received a five-year, $80 million task order to support aviation training at five U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps bases. It is the first award by the Naval Air Warfare Center’s Training Systems Division under an indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract.

Nine companies have the chance to bid on task orders under the contracts.

Under its new task order, Cubic (NYSE: CUB) will provide operations and maintenance support of F/A-18 Hornet and EA-18G Growler training devices and simulators at five locations: Naval Air Station Oceana in Virginia, Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Naval Air Station Lemoore, Naval Air Station Whidbey Island in Washington and Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort in South Carolina. Additionally, Cubic will provide instructors for the pilots and aircrew at three of those bases.
