Singlera Genomics Raises $20 Million in Series A Round

Local startup Singlera Genomics has raised $20 million in a Series A round, the company announced Monday.

The financing was led by Lilly Asia Ventures, with participation from Green Pine Capital Partners, CDBI Partners and others, according to a Singlera news release.

Singlera, dual-headquartered in La Jolla and Shanghai, is developing genetic testing products and services for tumor diagnosis and personalized treatment, along with non-invasive prenatal diagnosis.

The firm, founded in 2014, said it would use the proceeds of the new round to develop and commercialize its genetic tests, as well as to expand its R&D efforts.

“Singlera’s non-invasive, genomic-sequencing diagnostic technologies could significantly enhance the accuracy of tumor diagnosis and provide powerful guidance for … new treatments,” Chairman and Co-founder Yuan Gao said in a statement. “This new funding is a strong vote of confidence in our technologies, scientific research and commercial operations from a group of highly respected health care investors.”
