BNBuilders Gets $2.7M Contract for Hall of Justice Renovation

The San Diego office of general contractor BNBuilders has been awarded a $2.7 million contract for a renovation of San Diego County’s Hall of Justice, the downtown location of the state Superior Court.

A BNBuilders statement said the company was awarded the contract for pre-construction and construction services, related to the project at 330 W. Broadway. The contractor will be renovating the building’s fourth, fifth and sixth floors to accommodate a new pedestrian bridge, slated to connect the Hall of Justice’s fourth floor to the nearby new San Diego Central Courthouse.

Court support services at the old central courthouse will be relocated to the fourth floor of the Hall of Justice. Probation department offices are being consolidated on the fifth floor, opening up the sixth floor for the district attorney’s presentation office and the Superior Court’s information technology office.

BNBuilders will be completing all work after business hours and on weekends, and court operations will not be disrupted. Construction is expected to begin in late 2016, with an estimated completion in early 2017.

This is one of three county contracts recently awarded to the San Diego office of Seattle-based BNBuilders.
