San Diego’s innovations will be on full display during the city’s first weeklong event to highlight makers and inventions.
The event, called INNOVATE San Diego Week, will run from Friday, Sept. 30 through Friday, Oct. 7.
A series of events will showcase the region’s technology, and highlight hackers, drones, manufacturers and makers, according to a news release from Mayor Kevin Faulconer’s office.
SD Hacks, TwitchCon and the CRSSD Festival are all scheduled to take place during the week.
SD Hacks is a 36-hour hackathon at the University of California, San Diego in which participants create useful applications. TwitchCon is a gathering for the Twitch social media video and gaming platform, and CRSSD is a two-day music festival at the Waterfront Park at the County Administration Center.
The event was a collaboration between the City of San Diego, Maker Faire San Diego, the San Diego Regional Economic Development Corp., UC San Diego’s SD Hacks and Design Lab, and Twitch’s TwitchCon 2016 and the CRSSD Festival.
