Passenger traffic at San Diego International Airport increased 3.3 percent from a year ago in the first half of 2016, topping 9.93 million, according to data from the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority.
The airport handled more than 4.96 million arriving passengers in the January-to-June period, for a 3.4 percent increase; and 4.97 departing passengers, for a 3.2 percent increase.
For the month of June, total passenger traffic rose 1.1 percent from a year ago, to just under 1.82 million. Arriving travelers increased 1.3 percent, to 903,301; and the departing passenger count rose 0.9 percent, to 916,675.
Total cargo tons processed at the airport increased 9.4 percent for the first half, to 83,560.7; and rose 14.5 percent for the month of June, totaling 14,537.5.
U.S. mail tons processed at the facility declined 4.1 percent for the first six months, to 9,994.5; and increased 7 percent for June, at 1,784.8.
