Cubic Awarded Four-Year, $3.6 Million Contract

Cubic Corp. said April 11 that it received a four-year, $3.6 million contract to support the U.S. Army Europe Joint Multinational Readiness Center at Hohenfels in Bavaria, Germany.

Cubic (NYSE: CUB) said the deal is an expansion of a five-year contract that the Joint Multinational Simulation Center awarded to Cubic earlier this year to expand support for simulation and maneuver training efforts.

The award that Cubic received April 11 goes by the abbreviation OPTARSS II, short for Operations, Planning, Training and Resource Support Services II.

Kearny Mesa-based Cubic splits its business between the military and mass-transit markets. It offers sophisticated electronics to domestic and international customers in both markets.

The mass-transit side of the house is getting exposure April 11-13 as public transit officials and their suppliers converge on the Town and Country Hotel & Convention Center. The American Public Transportation Association is holding two related conferences in Mission Valley, focusing on fare collection and information technology.
