San Diego-based AMN Healthcare reported continuing positive financial results, with a 60 percent year-over-year spike in net income.

The healthcare staffing firm reported net income of $12.2 million for the first quarter of 2015, compared with a net income of $7.6 million in the same quarter last year.

Revenues were up 36 percent, with $327.5 million in the first quarter of 2015, compared with $240.9 million in the same quarter last year.

"Amid positive trends in the healthcare industry, we continued to experience strong demand and outstanding execution across all business segments, resulting in better-than-anticipated revenue and profitability growth during the first quarter," said Susan Salka, president and CEO of AMN Healthcare, in a recent news release.
