The U.S. Navy awarded BAE Systems San Diego Ship Repair a $35.3 million contract modification to cover dry-dock work on the Arleigh Burke-class destroyer USS Pinckney. The work will include maintenance, alterations and modifications that will improve the ship’s military and technical capabilities, and is expected to be complete by September 2015.

The Southwest Regional Maintenance Center announced the award on Sept. 25. The bulk of the funds for the work — $32 million — are set to expire on Sept. 30, at the end of the federal fiscal year.
