Operators of Hilton San Diego Del Mar recently completed a $15 million renovation of the 257-room property.

Officials said the hotel, at 15575 Jimmy Durante Blvd. in Del Mar, underwent a makeover that included the property’s lobby, business and fitness centers, restaurant, meeting spaces and all of its guest rooms.

New flooring, modern furniture and room bedding were installed, and the property’s 6,000-square-foot ballroom was upgraded with state-of-the-art equipment for weddings and major events, operators said.

The property’s on-site restaurant, coastalKitchen, now has an indoor/outdoor area with a fireplace and two outdoor fire pits.

The hotel is owned by Wheelock Street Capital and managed by Sage Hospitality. Connecticut-based Wheelock acquired the hotel in 2012, as part of a three-hotel portfolio that it purchased from Sunstone Hotel Partnership LLC of Aliso Viejo for $105 million, according to CoStar Group and public data.

Hilton San Diego Del Mar was built in 1987 and previously renovated in 2003.
