Poway-based Cohu Inc., which makes equipment for the semiconductor industry, said on Oct. 7 that its board of directors appointed Luis Müller as its president and CEO, effective Dec. 28.

He follows current President and CEO James Donahue, who is retiring.

Müller joined Cohu (Nasdaq: COHU) in 2005, and led its semiconductor equipment group since early 2011. He will also take a seat on the board on Dec. 28.

Cohu produces test and inspection equipment for companies producing semiconductors and MEMS devices (short for micro electro mechanical systems).
