San Diego-based Phil’s BBQ is opening a second location at Petco Park, set to debut March 30 on opening day for the San Diego Padres.
The new location, in section 113 of the main concourse, will have a grill, seating area and additional menu items not currently offered at the company’s previously opened ballpark kiosk location. The new venue will have a “more traditional restaurant feel,” owner Phil Pace said.
The new location will bring the company’s ballpark location employment total to 25, a Phil’s spokeswoman said. The fast-casual restaurant company was started in 1998 and operates at six venues in San Diego County.
The new Phil’s is among several venues being added to the Petco Park concessions lineup for the 2014 baseball season.
