City-Wide Electronic Systems, a San Diego security alarm services business, said it’s been acquired by Universal Protection Security Systems of Santa Ana for an undisclosed price.

The family-owned company City-Wide has been in business for about 40 years, and has more than 2,000 customers, said Universal Protection Security Systems.

“Denny Stover and his entire City-Wide team has tremendous technical savviness and expertise that enhance the Universal Protection Security Systems’ capabilities and the geographic footprint in the San Diego and Northern California areas,” said Ty Richmond, president of Security Systems & Technology for Universal Services of America, the parent company.

Last month, it was announced that local company SDA Security was acquired by Bay Alarm.
