Airsis Inc., a San Diego provider of software that helps in the tracking and management of ships, was acquired by Oceaneering International Inc. for an undisclosed price.

Oceaneering said the purchase is expected to enhance the company’s current asset-tracking service offered on offshore drilling rigs and vessels engaged in undersea activities.

Airsis’ signature software called PortVision provides Web-based location reporting on commercial vessels. It has about 3,000 users, the company said.

Founded in 2007, Airsis’ 2013 revenue was about $7 million.

Houston-based Oceaneering, with stock traded on the New York Stock Exchange under OII, reported revenue last year of $3.3 billion, up from $2.8 billion in 2012.
