The Omega Group, a San Diego-based provider of cloud based performance support software aimed at helping public safety agencies optimize patrol strategies, was acquired by a division of Trimble Inc., a Sunnyvale software business that has about $2 billion in annual revenue.
Terms of the acquisition weren’t disclosed. Omega Group uses cloud-based data management, analytics, mapping and visualization services to sift through disparate data sources to identify trends that help agencies make better decisions, the company said.
Bill Martin, general manager of Trimble’s public safety division, said by expanding its portfolio to include Omega Group’s data intelligence and analysis solutions, Trimble is offering a set of comprehensive tools to transform the way law enforcement, fire and emergency medical services work.
Trimble reported $2.3 billion in revenue last year. For the first quarter of this year, the company reported net income of nearly $69 million on revenue of $605 million.
