Active Network LLC will move its headquarters to Dallas with the help of $8.6 million in incentives from the state of Texas.

The San Diego business — acquired in November by Austin, Texas-based Vista Equity Partners — announced the move on July 3. The transition will take place over the coming year and Active plans to keep a presence in San Diego, the company said in a statement.

Texas Gov. Rick Perry’s office announced the financial incentive.

Vista paid $1.05 billion for Active, which offers software-as-a-service for managing events.

In February, Vista folded part of that business — the Active Network Business Solutions group — into its Lanyon software business, which focuses on meetings, events and travel.
