Operators recently completed a multimillion-dollar renovation of The Declan Suites hotel, located in the Cortez Hill neighborhood of downtown San Diego.
An exact figure for the renovation was not disclosed. Officials said the former Sheraton Suites property underwent a four-month makeover that included its entry, 12th-floor lobby, meeting spaces, bar and restaurant.
There is a music theme, tying into the hotel’s proximity to Copley Symphony Hall, with areas that have vintage records on the walls and Bohemian guitars available for guests to play.
The hotel’s Deck 12 now has a 5,400-square-foot restaurant, bar lounge and private meeting space. Operators plan to offer live acoustic music performances and an on-site Friday Farmer’s Market.
The redesign was overseen by Design 360 Unlimited of Los Angeles, and the hotel hired Chicago chef Joshua Soth to lead its restaurant offerings at Deck 12.
The 264-room property, at 701 A St., is owned by Westbrook Partners and managed by Highgate Hotels. The all-suites hotel was purchased in 2010 by New York-based Westbrook.
