Qualcomm Aids China Earthquake Relief Efforts

Qualcomm Inc. said it donated $325,000 to assist in earthquake relief efforts in China’s Yunnan Province.

Qualcomm has committed the funds to Charities Aid Foundation of America who has made a grant from their fund to the China Youth Development Foundation at the company’s suggestion, Qualcomm said.

“Qualcomm is deeply saddened by the loss of life, injuries and destruction caused by the recent earthquake in China’s Yunnan Province,” said Xiang Wang, senior vice president, and president of Qualcomm Greater China. “We extend our deepest sympathies and support to those affected. This contribution is in the hope for a quick recovery of the impacted areas.”

Charities Aid Foundation of America is a global grant-making organization assisting corporations, foundations, and individuals. They help donors support causes by assisting them in making strategic and effective grants internationally and domestically, Qualcomm said.

Forty-nine cents of every dollar that Qualcomm makes comes from China, up from 42 cents in fiscal 2012.
