PriceSmart Inc. said sales increased 5.4 percent to $198.6 million for the month of July from $188.5 million in July of 2013.

For the eleven months ended July 31, 2014, net warehouse club sales increased 9.3 percent to $2.24 billion from $2.05 billion for the like period of 2013, according to PriceSmart.

There were 33 warehouse clubs in operation at the end of July 2014, and 31 warehouse clubs in operation at the end of July 2013, the company said.

PriceSmart, headquartered in San Diego, owns and operates membership shopping warehouse clubs in Latin America and the Caribbean
