Northrop Grumman Gets $43.8M Navy Deal for Unmanned Helicopters

The U.S. Navy said that it awarded a $43.8 million contract to Northrop Grumman Corp. for several unmanned helicopters and one ground control station.

Under the deal, technically a contract modification, Northrop Grumman will provide five of its Fire Scout unmanned helicopters.

One quarter of the work will be performed in Rancho Bernardo, which is home base for all of Northrop Grumman’s unmanned aircraft programs. Other work will be performed in Point Mugu; Dallas; Ozark, Ala.; and Moss Point, Miss. The builder is expected to complete its work by December 2015.

The Naval Air Stystems Command of Patuxent River, Md. awarded the deal
