San Diego-based PatientSafe Solutions Inc. has received $7 million from Singapore-based investment firm EDBI, rounding out its Series C investment round at $27 million.

Other investors in this round include Merck Global Health Innovation Fund, Camden Partners, TPG Biotech and Psilos Group.

EDBI is the investment arm of the Singapore Economic Development Council. With the cash infusion, PatientSafe is poised to expand its technology into the Asia Pacific region, CEO Joe Condurso said.

The privately held company is headquartered in Sorrento Valley, and it employs about 70. The company develops point-of-care mobile devices based on iPhone and iPod touch technology that help improve clinical workflow in hospitals. The company’s PatientTouch System has been deployed in more than 70 hospitals around the country.
