Tuesday, September 17, 2013

Greg Rollet has named CEO at AIS, a San Diego-based information technology company also known as American Internet Services.

Rollet takes over from Tim Caulfield, who will take on an advisory role for private equity firm Seaport Capital, an AIS investor.

Rollet was most recently a senior director of operations and service delivery at EMC, where he managed more 150,000 square feet of hosting infrastructure, the company said. He has nearly 30 years of experience in business sales and management, including more than 20 years in IT.

Before joining EMC, he worked eight years at regional data center operator Peak 10, the company said.

Scott McCormack, partner at Seaport Capital and chairman of AIS’s board of directors, said he’s worked with and admired Rollet for many years.

“He’s just what AIS needs at this point in our growth and expansion,” McCormack said, while acknowledging Caulfield’s contributions. “Under Tim’s guidance, AIS solidified tis infrastructure across seven facilities and diversified into new service areas including disaster recovery, cloud computing, cybersecurity and managed storage.”
