Integrated circuit maker MaxLinear has made a deal to supply ICs to a Taiwanese television set-top box manufacturer, the company reported recently.
Zinwell will integrate MaxLinear’s MxL544 Full Spectrum Capture DVB-S/S2 receiver into a new family of high-end satellite TV set-top boxes referred to as home media gateways.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Carlsbad-based MaxLinear (NYSE: MXL) said it would begin mass production of the gateways during the first half of 2014.
