Northrop Grumman Gets Global Hawk Logistics Contract Worth $169.9M

The U.S. Air Force recently awarded Northrop Grumman a one year deal for logistics for its Global Hawk unmanned aircraft.

In a Sept. 12 announcement, the Pentagon estimated the value of the contract at $169.9 million.

Work will be done in San Diego. Northrop Grumman bases its unmanned aircraft business in Rancho Bernardo.

Northrop Grumman will provide logistics for fielded air vehicles, engines, payloads, ground segments and support segments through September 2014.

The Global Hawk flies at altitudes greater than 60,000 feet and gathers intelligence.

The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center at Robins Air Force Base, Ga. awarded the contract.
