San Diego County new light vehicle sales are projected to beat 2012 levels by more than 10 percent this year.
New light vehicle registrations for 2013 are expected to rise 10.6 percent to 140,000, according to the New Car Dealers Association San Diego County.
The association also predicted that 2014 vehicle registrations will be 7.5 percent greater than 2013, making the fifth consecutive annual increase. The low point was 2009, when 77,707 vehicles were registered.
The association bases its projections on registration data from R.L. Polk & Co.
