Realty Income Names New Chief Investment Officer

Realty Income Corp., with headquarters in Escondido, has named Sumit Roy as its new chief investment officer, overseeing the company’s investment activities.

Roy succeeds former chief investment officer John P. Case, who was named chief executive officer of the real estate investment trust in September. Roy most recently served as an executive vice president of acquisitions with Realty Income, following 10 years as a New York-based investment banker.

Past executive positions included tenures at UBS Investment Bank, MeadWestvaco, Merrill Lynch and Cap Gemini.

Realty Income (NYSE: O) is among the nation’s largest publicly traded REITs, with an enterprise value of approximately $13 billion. The company owns more than 3,600 industrial, retail and related commercial properties.
