San Diego-based Cohn Restaurant Group has opened a new restaurant in La Mesa, called BO-beau kitchen + garden, which is the company’s 16th local full-service restaurant.

The new eatery is located at 8384 La Mesa Blvd., in the space that previously housed Enlightened Hospitality Group’s Gingham restaurant. It is a sister restaurant to Cohn’s BO-beau kitchen + bar in Ocean Beach.

The La Mesa restaurant is owned by David and Lesley Cohn and operating partners Michelle Kveen and Deborah Scott. It is designed by noted interior designer Philippe Beltran, with a kitchen led by Executive Chef Benjamin Moore.

Operators describe the restaurant as a “chef driven neighborhood eatery.” It has a custom wall filled with chalkboard art, a lush landscaped outdoor patio with firepits, and a dedicated space for children featuring a retrofitted school bus.

In business since 1981, Cohn Restaurant Group now operates 16 full-service eateries in San Diego County and three in Hawaii. Within the next few weeks, it will be opening Sea 180, a seafood-focused restaurant at Pacifica Cos.’ new Pier South luxury hotel in Imperial Beach.
