Kratos Defense & Security Solutions Inc. received a U.S. Army research and development contract that could be worth as much as $2 million.
Kratos (Nasdaq: KTOS) said the award went to its Defense & Rocket Support Services division.
Under the award, Kratos will develop a transient aero-thermal analysis capability for the evaluation of high-speed vehicle thermal protection systems.
The new capability will let engineers accurately evaluate thermal characteristics of present and future high-speed weapons systems, Kratos said.
The U.S. Army Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation awarded the deal.
