Former Ambassador to China Elected to Qualcomm BoardTuesday, October 8, 2013
Qualcomm Inc.’s Board of Directors elected Clark Randt to join the board.
Randt was the U.S. Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China from 2001 to 2009, and he has about 30 years’ experience as a diplomat, attorney and businessman, the company said.
Currently, Randt is a consultant providing strategic advice to clients developing business in China.
Before being named as the Chinese ambassador, Randt was a partner at Sherman & Sterling where he served as head of China practices and was a member of the firm’s mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance groups.
Qualcomm Chairman and CEO Paul Jacobs said Randt’s extensive background in working with China’s government and businesses will provide invaluable insight to Qualcomm’s board as it expands its footprint in China’s growing wireless ecosystem.
