Pulse Electronics Corp., a San Diego based maker of electronic components, recently shipped its 2 billionth antenna.

The majority of the antennas are used in a wide variety of wireless products such as smartphones, tablets, laptops, and other wireless devices. Pulse said the milestone comes at the same time that its Finland Oy unit celebrates its 35th anniversary.

Pulse, which does all its manufacturing in China but maintains research and design and administrative operations here, said it was a pioneer in the introduction of new antenna products including the first industrialized internal mobile phone antenna; the first antenna-acoustic module for mobile phones; the smallest GPS antenna; and programmable LTE antenna for ultra-thin laptops.
