The Pentagon signed a $15 million contract with San Diego-based Coast Citrus Distributors, which has agreed to provide fresh fruits and vegetables through mid-2015. The deal has two option periods of 18 months each.
The Defense Logistics Agency’s Troop Support office in Philadelphia awarded the contract supporting the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps. The agency buys and manages about $13.4 billion worth of food, clothing, textiles and other products, according to a recent report from Congressional Research Service.
