Sony Electronics, which is based in San Diego, has scheduled a May 17 reopening of its remodeled Sony Store at Fashion Valley mall.
A company statement said the Mission Valley store is among three stores nationwide that were recently remodeled under a new concept design to spotlight Sony TVs, cameras, computers and audio gear. The Fashion Valley mall store includes a wide-open storefront and is the only place in San Diego County currently displaying the company’s 4K Ultra HD televisions, with the 55- and 65-inch models hitting the market later this month.
Sony operates 37 retail stores nationwide and has an outlet location in San Ysidro. The company also recently debuted free-standing, curated Sony Gallery product displays being placed at malls nationwide, with the first one opened at Westfield UTC.
Sony plans to open a full retail store, under a new “boutique” concept, this fall at the University Towne Center mall.
