Local Construction Firms Selected to Compete for Work in HawaiiMonday, March 25, 2013
The islands are calling two local construction companies.
Halbert Construction Co. Inc. of El Cajon as well as Sullivan International Group Inc. of San Diego are among eight small businesses that the U.S. Department of Defense recently selected to bid on construction work in Hawaii.
The eight companies will compete for task orders totaling $95 million.
The Naval Facilities Engineering Command of Hawaii awarded each contractor an indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity multiple award contract which, if the Navy exercises all of its options, will last for three years.
Sullivan said it teamed up with Hawaii Dredging Construction Co. Inc. to pursue its projects.
The Navy said it received 25 proposals for the work.
