14 New Hospitals Adopt CareFusion Corp.’s Tracking Platform

Tuesday, June 25, 2013

San Diego-based medical device maker CareFusion Corp. announced that 14 new hospitals have adopted the company’s patient medication management-tracking platform.

The Pyxis ES platform gives hospitals centralized control of their medication dispensing technologies, which the company said helps standardize and maintain medication management practices and policies within a single site or across multiple hospitals and clinics. The basic concept is to help improve medication safety, the company said.

“More than 50 customers have chosen the Web-based Pyxis ES platform as their solution to address medication management across their hospital or health system,” Rusty Frantz, senior vice president and general manager of dispensing for CareFusion, said in a statement. “The ability to have centralized management and reporting across a facility or entire health system helps customers establish consistent and efficient medication management processes.”
