Entropic Spends $13M for Irvine Semiconductor FirmMonday, June 10, 2013
Entropic, a publicly traded company based in San Diego, said recently that it acquired Irvine-based Mobius Semiconductor Inc. for $13 million in cash, plus employee equity-based incentives.
Mobius specializes in low power, high performance analog mixed-signal semiconductor solutions.
Entropic, which trades on the Nasdaq under the symbol ENTR, said the addition strengthens its competitive product offerings in both the cable and satellite markets.
Mobius’ founders, Aaron Buchwald and Avi Madisetti, will remain with the company and Entropic will maintain a presence in Irvine.
