San Diego-based Willis Allen Real Estate said it is affiliating with Christie’s International Real Estate, with the former exclusively representing the Christie’s brand in San Diego.

Christie’s real estate unit is a wholly owned subsidiary of the world famous art auction house which was founded in 1766 in London.

Willis Allen President Andrew Nelson said the Christie’s brand exudes quality and prestige.

“Christie’s, like Willis Allen, prides itself on a history of excellence and unparalleled client service,” he said. “We elected to become a Christie’s affiliate because of the direct ties to the art and auction house and its unprecedented global clout and reach.”

Willis Allen, founded in 1914 and one of the oldest real estate firms in the county, is headquartered in La Jolla and has five other offices.
