Mad Catz Interactive Reports Net Loss of $12.2M for Quarter-Ended March 31

Mad Catz Interactive Inc., the San Diego video game publisher and peripheral maker, reported a net loss of $12.2 million on net sales of $24.6 million for the three months ended March 31. During the same quarter one year ago, the company reported net income of $804,000 on net sales of $29.2 million.

Mad Catz ended its fiscal year on March 31. For the year, the company reported a net loss of $11.2 million on net sales of $122.7 million. One year ago, it reported a net loss of $1.6 million on net sales of $117.6 million.

The recently ended quarter was characterized by strong sales in Europe: $14 million. Sales were $7.4 million in the United States, $819,000 in Canada, and $2.4 million in the rest of the world.
