Walmart this fall plans to open two new Escondido stores, which the retailer said will employ a total of approximately 280.
A statement from Arkansas-based Wal-Mart Stores Inc. said the company will open a 92,000-square-foot Walmart general-merchandise store near the intersection of Grand Avenue and Harding Street; and a 45,000-square-foot Walmart Neighborhood Market at 1266 East Valley Parkway, in the Trafalgar Square shopping center.
The small-format Neighborhood Market store will include a selection of value-priced groceries, including fresh foods. Both Escondido stores will have energy-efficient technologies and operate recycling programs, the statement said.
The retailer operates 22 stores in San Diego County, including 11 general merchandise stores, nine supercenters, one Neighborhood Market and one Sam’s Club.
